Southeast Chapter ABS
Anderson Workday March 2002

It was raining and the temperature was 35° when we started.

The workers: (L to R) Ruth and Lanny Wilson, Elma
and Marvin Johnson, Keena and Mike Turner,
Mike Hotchkiss, Robby Russell and Mary Ann Silverman

Ruth and Lanny getting their equipment ready.

Keena is ready to work.

Mike Hotchkiss and Lanny discuss the matter while
Ruth is moving the cleanings to the rubbish pile.

Robby oversees Mary Ann and Elma

It was cold, rainy and miserable but everybody
jumped in and got the work done.

Mike Turner and Mary Ann getting rid of briars.

Keena finishing up a section of the grove.

Even with the bad weather all felt the end result
was worth the effort.

The drought of the last 3 years has reduced the size of
the culms. The largest we could find from last year's growth
was 4 1/4 inches.

Everybody seemed to have a good time.

Hope to see you at our next activity.
